  Married: GARLING-RIXONOne of the most popular weddings celebrated in theCoonamble district for some time, and of considerableinterest to Gilgandra residents, was that at St. Barnabas'Church of England yesterday, the contracting parties beingElizabeth Jessie, fifth daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.William Rixon, of Bega, and Mr. Edgar Lancelot Garling,youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur CrawfordGarling, of "Spring Field," Gulgong. Until recently thebride was matron of the Coonamble District Hospital, andMr. Garling is manager of Messrs. Eason's Ltd. The churchwas beautifully decorated for the occasion, the bride beinggiven away by Mr. Percy Garling, of Sydney, and wasattended by Miss Vivian Yates and Miss Lillian Garling, asbridesmaids. The groom was attended by Messrs. RodneyHenderson and Donald Beveridge. After the ceremony areception was held in the Plaza Theatre, Coonamble, wherebetween 60 and 70 guests were entertained. The newlymarried couple spent the first night of the honeymoon inGilgandra, being guests at the Imperial Hotel. 24 May 1935
