  Married: John signed the register but Jane marked it with a cross asdid her younger sister, Mary Ann Power, who was a witness.The other witness was John Wholohan and the priest was FrCharles Bernard Quinn. Noted in the register is thefollowing: "The consent of John Power, settler, Lochiel,was given to the marriage of Jane Power with John GeorgeJess the said Jane Power being under the age of twenty oneyears. I say Charles Bernard Quinn." Jane, in fact, was onemonth short of her seventeenth birthday.
