I know that the punt at thistime had cog-wheels as Billie's brother, nine year old AlanThaler, got his thumb caught in it and cut off.Robert Thaler got a contract to go to the Fijian capitalSuva (which was known as Latooka?) and put on theelectricity.The Thaler family moved from Tanja to Candelo and took upresidence in a little earthen-floored house papered withnewspapers, next to Harriet's mother Eliza Leplaw's house.My mother Billie recalled new recruitments for World War Imarching through Candelo so they were there in 1914.
