  	DISTRICT DEATH. Another link with the past has been severed by the death of an old resident Mrs. Sarah A. Clune, which occurred at her late residence, " Burraneer," Rocky Point-road, Arncliffe, on Monday last. The deceased lady was a 'native of County Cavan, Ireland, and came to this country with her Parents in her infancy. Over 60 years ago the 'family (Dolan) settled at Arncliffe, on the hill known as the Pinch, afterwards moving to Burraneer Bay where large areas were taken up. Twenty-eight years ago Mrs. Clune took up the hotel at Arncliffe known as the West Botany Hotel, which she conducted for about fifteen years. Mrs. Clune's husband (a cousin of Dr. Clune and Mr. J. Clune of Kogarah) predeceased her 29 years ago. Mrs. Clune was for many years an active worker in connection with the Catholic Church, and her charitable acts are known to many beneficiaries. She was 65 years of age and death was due to heart failure. The funeral took place at Sutherland on Tuesday and was largely attended, most of the old families being represented. Revs. Father O'Driscoll and Walsh officiated at the graveside and with others the following were among the many mourners : Messrs. John and Joseph Clune (sons), L. F. Stone (son-in-law), J. Dun worth, J. Smithson, J.Brennan, A. Thompson. Mrs. Clune leaves a grown up family consisting of Messrs. John and Joseph Clune, Mrs. L. F. Stone, and Miss Rose Clune, for whom widespread sympathy has been expressed. (The St George Call -Sat 18 Jun 1910)
